We’re not here to save the planet. We’re here to brew beer. But that doesn’t mean we can’t do it in a way that’s a little easier on the climate.
At Ølsnedkeren, we think in circles. Not because we’re going in circles — but because it makes sense to use resources wisely, keep them in the loop, and get the most out of them along the way.
Our brewery runs on 100% green electricity from renewable sources — certified, honest energy. All lighting has been switched to energy-efficient LED bulbs, so we use power where it matters most: the beer. And when we send our beer out into the world, we do it by electric van — so you can enjoy fresh drops without the guilty conscience.
We can our beer in aluminium because it weighs less, protects better — and because aluminium can be recycled again and again without losing its spark. That’s pure circular love.
We capture the heat from cooling the wort and reuse it for the next brew or for cleaning. And instead of wasting good water, we give it a second life in the production process. We dose our cleaning agents with the same care as we do our hops — not too much, not too little — so both the beer and the wastewater can breathe a little easier.
The spent grain we’re left with is picked up by a local farmer and used as animal feed. From beer to cow — that’s how we keep the small cycle going.
We know we’ll never be 100% sustainable. But we do our best every single day — and we keep learning along the way. Fortunately, beer and thoughtfulness go pretty well together.
